Begin to make the shifts that lead to the close, connected relationships you long to experience. Work with the theme and affirmation below. Take time to experience the word and take in the affirmation. Living from these concepts is not always easy. The words and affirmations are designed to help you become more aware and intentional in your relationships.

Fun

I enjoy life and my relationships.

When I make having fun one of my life's purposes, I bring joy to those around me. Allowing my creativity to flow, I am inspired by new ways to surprise them and bring fun into our relationship. I gain inspiration for new experiences from the history we have together and my unique knowledge of them. It need not cost me much in the way of time or money. When I give an unexpected gift, tell an inside joke, send a sweet text message, or plan a spontaneous outing or activity, the pleasure they experience brings me happiness and energy. I look for opportunities to make an unexpected connection or insert some fun into the lives of those I care about.

Tip:  Look for opportunities to bring happiness and fun to those in your life. This is not a practical joke, but rather a thoughtful or spontaneous act that results in the sharing of joy and excitement. A little burst of laughter or fun goes a long way to energize a relationship. Get creative and do something unexpected. For example, propose frisbee in the back yard, have a picnic for the park ready when your family is arriving home, sneak a love letter into a lunch box or briefcase, buy a treat that was a favorite on a past vacation, or turn on some music and ask your spouse to dance.
